Specimens is a series of drawings that linger between abstraction and figuration. Often adopting grid-structures that are used to organise glyphs and symbols into a language, the drawings question the meanings attributed to written language. The works begin to unravel how a world might be perceived if language was not an agent of perception, but rather, open to misperception and mistranslation.
